Femme Fatale is the quintessential Britney modern pop album; it doesn't have any real Britney in there, but it's a brilliant 'Britney' experience. If you like modern pop mingled with electro-stomp dance steps, you will groove to this album for hours.
Although this modern pop album does not have a lot of origin, it reaches a sort of synthetic, packaged perfection you would associate with a robot. The tunes of this modern pop album are not very new and clichés about fire abound in 'Gasoline' lyrics, while 'hold it against me' is the old story, only down.

Femme Fatale does not bring anything new on the table: it's just another modern pop Britney album. But for a Britney fan, it is a hit, and if you are not expecting something new, this will please you.

Dropkick Murphys Modern Punk Rock

The new album from the legendary Celtic rock band the Dropkick Murphys epitomizes modern punk rock, with its feisty energy and unique concept. The series of songs on the album detail the life of an Irish immigrant's journey to America, inspired by the stories of the band members grandparents. This makes the album quite emotional throughout, and each song is masterfully constructed.

Perhaps the exception to this is the song "Memorial Day", which is important to the story but has lackluster vocals and arrangements. Despite this track, the rest of the album is a successful testament to the band's ability to merge musical talent with impressive story-telling. Several tracks feature pounding drums in the classic Dropkick Murphy style, and there is even a bagpipe featuring in the song "Deeds Not Words". Bruce Springsteen also performs with Casey on a cover of the Irish classic "Peg O' My Heart".
